help please with shock and struts
Hi ,
Ralph from The Netherlands here.... i am looking for my mustang 2005 shock and struts but can somebody help to explain what is better Mustang GT Tokico D-Spec Adjustable or 05-09 MUSTANG GT Tokico HP what is the difference?? i see also on some site's with coils springs.
So what is the best to order?? i want my car to get more stiff and i am not going to lower my car but just prepare for the future when installing an supercharger.
Thanks guys anyway

It would be a good idea to add stiffer springs in addition to the shocks. The H&R OE Sport springs only lower the car .75 inches (~19mm) and are significantly stiffer.

You can use your stock springs if you really want to. I just think you will get more benefits if you put on a stiffer performance set of springs.

The big advantage in doing springs and struts/shocks together is that you only have to disassemble things and align once. Or pay only one time for parts replacement and alignment.
It isn't absolutely to swap in different springs if you're happy with the OE springs or need to maintain the OE ground clearance. Most aftermarket springs do lower the car, and the amounts of lowering vary quite widely. Generally speaking, lowering that's any more than about 30, maybe 35 mm is mainly for appearance reasons.
But with a supercharger in the future, you probably will want stiffer springs as well as more performance-oriented shocks/struts. HP's are maybe slightly better then OE (but not by a whole lot and I wouldn't match HP's to springs much stiffer than OE). The D-specs are aimed a bit higher up, for a bit more money. Better still, Koni yellows/single adjustables (yes, more money).

Those are the D-specs that have been mentioned. A search under that term will probably bring up more hits than you're likely to wade through. Most people (but not all) seem to like them, as for most folks the D-spec ride/handling balance seems to be better than stock. Konis are generally considered better still and perhaps a bit more durable, about at the higher of your two price points for D-specs.
