Default Bullitt shift **** / bezel with MGW?

Hey guys...so I recently got an MGW shifter installed and I saw the new 2010 mustang and it had the bullitt shift **** and bezel/boot in it. I really like the look and had a similar bullitt shift **** in my old mustang, so I was wondering if anyone ever put the bullitt **** and boot/bezel on an MGW short throw shifter? I don't think there should be a problem with it, but I just want to check to be sure, as the prices on the bullitt shift set are outrageous, lol.

The Bullitt Shifter **** does fit the MGW shifter if you order it with the stock thread pattern. The Bullitt **** with Boot & Bezel is really expensive, I found a Bullitt **** in the classified section and check out Redline Goods for a great price on getting a custom boot made.

You can also adapt your stock boot to accept the Bullitt ****. I did. The rubber O-ring that retains the top of the boot to the bottom of the **** is smaller on the Bullitt. I cut out my rubber O-ing and used a zip tie in the same location. You have to adjust it a few times to get it to look right and to keep it loose enough for shifter movement. But can be a temporary alternative to dropping the ridiculous dime on the Bullitt bezel. I'm picky and not into hillbilly-riggin stuff, so I feel if it passed my final inspection it might pass yours. Good luck.

that looks interesting...cheaper alternative to the $95 **** and the $138 shift bezel on parts cheap.com

Damn, I don't know if I can really rationalize spending OVER $200 on a shift **** boot and bezel. That's less than $100 less than what I spent on the short throw shifter, lol.

you could always just get the mgw classic ball assembly...kinda looks like that setup, just not satin aluminum. $65.

I refuse to pay $138 just for the boot & bezel, that's just ridiculious.

If you are willing to wait, keep checking the classifieds.
I got my Bullitt shifter **** from a forum member for $60 and ordered a custom boot from Redline Goods for about $50...and I already have a boot bezel.

Here, this'll be the **** i'm getting when the time comes. It's not a genuine bullitt shift ****, i'm sure, but it seems to look exactly the same, fits our cars, and is $44 for the S197 model+shipping. You can pay another $10 for a polished finish if you want: http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=224
