Post Sirius Satelite radio

I recently swapped out my shaker 500 system in my 2008 mustang gt/cs and my question is can I use any of the factory installed satelite radio gear with my Kenwood ddx512 satelite radio ready dvd player? Thanks for any replies!

I think that the connection is specific to the Ford system and not interchangeable. You can use the antenna with the Kenwood satellite receiver though.

Let me know if you are interested in selling the factory Sirius receiver

If you have the service, I'd think that all you need to do is contact Sirius and give them the new ID# to have them transfer the service so you can activate the Kenwood.

i had the same problem. pretty sure you have to purchase a new receiver. the stock one is shaker specific and will not fit to a new hu. if i recall correctly

You might be able to rewire the connector but you will still need the adapter for the specific head unit. This is the main reason I haven't bought an aftermarket stereo.

I don't have the service yet , never subscribed on my factory stuff ....so it won't be a problem getting it on my kenwood head unit. All I want to do is use the factory Ford antenna with the Kenwood satelite reciever ,when I get around to buying it and JimC what's the factory reciever worth to you ?

I see that you are in Canada - what province and city? I am in Michigan, right across from Sarnia, Ontario. That would factor into pricing because I understand that shipping between the US and Canada can get expensive and crossing the border tends to be slow when our respective customs people get their hands on it.

With Sirius, I'm you need the SC-C1 SiriusConnect Tuner and the Kenwood adapter cable. Though I'm not sure, because I haven't done it myself, I believe that the Ford Sirius Tuner will not be compatible with the Kenwood adapter cable. I would read up on the SC-C1 tuner as well, some reviews were not very good.
