Default Polished alloys?

Anyone know if its possible to polish my stock 17" bullitts? I like the polished look but dont have the cash for new rims. I know most polishing required a TON of sanding but can it be done on my rims or will it not work?

I would like to know if this can be done also. I have the stock wheels off the car and I was wondering if one could put paint stripper on the wheels, get the paint off, and polish them. Anyone done this?

You'll probably be the first to find out if you can polish the 17" Bullitt wheel or not. To be honest you might find a set of 18" polished Bullitts take-offs w/tires for about the same amount of money you'd spend polishing a set of 17" wheels.

your rims are PAINTED!

You want the polished rims? You'll need to buy them!
Your not going to get the polished rims by rubbing yours for...
uh... never mind what I said!

Go ahead and try polishing them for 10 hours with the expensive polish and you'll get your new "polished" rims! LOL

Well, from a technical/scientific standpoint, yes, it's doable. Your wheels are aluminum, no different than the aluminum of the polished wheels; the paint can be stripped off, and the aluminum can be polished. Is that the most practical way to go? Is it worth the time effort and money spent to get it done? Probably not.

Hi everybody
i have a 2008 premium Gt in dark candy apple red metallic with the same " 17" painted-aluminum wheels, standard on GT and GT Premium" and it is possible to polish them. Just today i went to Performance wheel and tire which is down in long beach california, and the can polish them. i made a apointment earlier today to go in at 8am. they gave me a price quote of $290 to take off, polish, put back on, and rebalance them. they also gave me the option to have them put on chrome wheels instead, but i like the polished aluminum aswell. however the only downfall on having them polished is that they do not clear coat them, making it harder to keep clean, and looking nice, the salesman said they needed to be cleaned with a polish about once a month.

my tire and wheel store can do it so most likely they can do yours aswell.

i will post pictures once they are finished, cuz i pick up at aproximatly 4 tomorrow.

hope i helped
