Hey guys,

I just noticed that on my drivers sill panel, there is a 5" strip where the paint has completely worn away. I had no idea how this has happened untill I got out of the car. I guess because I sit very close to the wheel (personal preference) that as I exit the vehicle, I rub my right shoe sole on it.

I am worried about it rusting out soon.










I understand pictures are worth 1,000 words, so I will have them up soon. Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions to prevent rusting?

i have paint peeling on the inside of the door handle inset on the drivers side. From the looks of your car you are tungsten gray. I am also tungsten gray and mine is a 2007 GT which i got in late 2006. Any resemblance to yours?

Stop draggin your feets.
Nothing has touched my doorsills
besides a microfiber towel in the last 2 1/2 years.

If you keep dragging your body parts across it, it wont
have a chance to rust.
But if you must, LPS makes a great product. Its like cosmolene...

Mine is Alloy. And I have no peeling, just worn away paint

Anjd I guess it is a bad habit I need to stop. I didnt think it would rust if I keep "cleaning" it everytime i drive it lol

Keep dragging your feet, it will erode surface rust as well.

on a side note did u replace your interior lights? looks awesome, i want to do this mod but it seems like alot of work.

I havent done the full interior yet, only a few sections. But I love it.

It really isnt that hard, its just a little frustrating dealing with the tiny LED's

Intervention- Have you checked the paint on the bottom of your door? Are you sure it's not just a poor alignment between your door and the sill? Maybe there's rubbing. That just looks like way more than your shoe rubbing to me.
