ORIGINAL: Zeio

I have the same exact problem, but I have a feeling I was careless with some wax or something else and it got along the rubber edge of the window. I just purchased some product called WaxBlaster and used it to remove some wax I got along some of the black trim, so I may clean the edge that touches the window as well. I do clean my windows almost every day though, but I think its my fault anyway from being careless when waxing.

I don't believe I got wax there, but there is no telling what happen when they "detailed" it at the dealer.
Maybe I will start by wiping that rubber piece with some simple green tonight. At the very least it makes
me feel better that someone else knows what the heck I'm talking about.

Tres & Prof, It is making me NUTS! Even if you don't put your windows down, I still get the half inch
smear from the auto roll down when you open and close the door.

It definately sounds like you got some form of grease or wax on the rubber window wipers...

Yup.. clean the hell out of them!

Also try some "Orange" based cleaner... great if it is an oil based substance.

I was getting the same thing, but it ended up being tree sap from where I was parking at work. I just washed the car and moved parking spots, it took care of that.

If you have tint make sure your felt strip is clean and in place, if memory serves me right, some people were having problems with streaking from a lack of felt. Also, I hope you guys using windex are not using it on your tinted windows, the ammonia can mess up your tint. I recommend the Gunk brand glass cleaner, I bought it at Wally world and it works charms and is safe for tint. Hope that helps [sm=burnout.gif]

Great tip on the No Windex policy. However that applies to ALL car windows. You don't want Windex on your paint or rubber and the overspray can get there.
I tried their disposable wipes but they smear.
Maybe Gunk is the way to go...

Mine didn't come with felt strips on the windows. That's why mine are always making streaks. I remember this because I know when I go get tinted I have to ask them to put on felt strips for me.

I think Ford was trying to save money and didn't put them on.

I'm a big believer in Invisible Glass Cleaner. That stuff is 10 times better than Windex (which I don't use due to the tinting anyway). No issue with mine streaking outside.
