The LS3 has 30more hp than the LS2 I believe.

It was in Pasadena, CA.

What Riptide said... Plus there are some more technical things about it that i'm sure the Corvette guys on here would be happy to fill you in on :-P

Also i believe the '08s got a new steering rack(or something new with the steering) and some suspension tweaks maybe?

You're right about the steering. Read a review this morning and it mentioned some changes there as well. I'm not even considering an LS2 pre 08. I want an 08 or forget about it.

Looks like I could be going carless for a while if my GT sells this weekend. I can't find any GT500s now in my price range, the dealers won't budge, and any C6 vettes that I'm interested in are all out of state and 1000+ miles away.

I may end up driving my old honda for a while and just socking more money away until I find a true steal of a deal relatively close (Salt Lake, Denver) by.

$1k is $1k but if it is your dream car i would say go ahead and take the plunge. Can't go wrong with a GT500. Or just wait a little longer and save up the extra $1k.

Christ almighty. My friend is flaking out on buying the car already. Kid's like 20 and he's afraid his parents gonna kick him out if he does this. :/

Between that and the 33,500 GT500 selling looks like I'll have my GT for a while now then. Sorry to ****ing waste everyone's time here. I might put the GT up for sale anyway but it was easier to start shopping around and doing this when I had a buyer at the time.

I can't speak for everybody but we all have the potential to go through the same ****. I wouldn't want people to hold it against me if I asked a question for a situation that fell through.

I love the forums and appreciate all the advice people give me at a moments notice and I hope vice versa.

No worries man! I even like the arguing! Especially when its constructive. ;-)

Thread revival.

My friend flaked on me and I didn't sell the GT. And the car I was looking at for 33,500 was sold.

interesting

sorry to read it didn't play out for you in the end. I personally can't see dropping that much money for just a blown 5.4. We all dream of driving a GT500 though of course...
I had a blown 5.4 3v and it was alot of fun in my 6,000 lb truck...the torque is amazing.

but it ain't worth picking up $23,500 ($33,500-$10,000) of additional debt IMO.
there will be other opportunites around. IMO you would be better off doing a Suspension and Blower on your current Stang. You'd have a lighter, better handling car...and be under 1/2 the price of upgrading to that GT500

btw, in that video with the GT500...that car was in 2nd gear each time the video said "3rd Gear"...you can clearly see him shift into 3rd at the 1:01 point...either that, or the 6 speed has a very weird shift pattern
