FYI for those who want to change their own oil
The 2010s have a big plastic cover under the engine that needs to be removed to drain the oil and access the oil filter. There are 7 tiny bolts holding the cover on, but only 4 have to be removed to take the cover off. The bolts are a very odd ball size... 5.5mm. Thats right, five and a half millimeters... 5mm is too small and 6mm is too big. I only found one store in my area, Autozone, that sells 5.5mm sockets and you will need one to get the cover off because they are one tight.

There you have it folks, Ford wants you to take your GT to them for the oil/filter change...I was wondering when they would do something like this (all in the name of better air flow under the engine...yeah, right)...they have the 5.5mm socket ready to rake you in for the oil/filter change.
In any event, Blair many thanks for the good info!!

Well..Ford has been doing my oil changes on my car since I got the '05 GT. For as little time as I spend home from traveling....I wanna be in the car driving not under the car. $34 bucks...they can do it!!!

Ya'll always take good care of my ride, and my girl's Fusion when I bring that in. So I know the new baby will be taken care of as well.

actually i checked my box today and i do have a 5.5mm socket and i checked my craftsman set i have at the house and there is also a 5.5mm socket in it so im assuming that is it a pretty common size of a socket especially a 1/4" drive
and yea wilkinda the 4 of us on the lube rack try to take the best care we can with all the vehicles we get in
