How do you secure it to the car? Or does it just sit there?

I highly recommend you do....and the reason I say this:

Several years ago my Nissan was broken into and they took my entire stereo setup.

The insurance company WOULD HAVE COVERED IT if I could prove that the items of the system were fastened to the car in some way. Well I couldn't...because they were just sitting there in the trunk.

So I basically got screwed.

Once you get your L brackets on, I would take a photo or two and keep it someplace just in case the worse happens.
