I would have figured decent gains on a turbo car. C&L usually make really nice products.

I was waiting for someone to be the test subject with a turbo. I was considering the upgrade thinking the C&L, a GT500 TB, a new bigger turbo (which I have) and a tune may give me around 100 hp. But I don't know.

Maybe just a tune with my current set up would do it.

Is that the same magazine that said they got over 30HP from a set of COP's?

Ford Racing is coming out later this year with a new intake manifold. They say it's not meant to really add power but to extend your RPM range by 1K. So instead of redlining at 6.5K you can go to 7.5K. I think it'll cost around the same price as the C&L.

If it were me, I'd wait for the FRPP manifold. I most likely will not get one myself though. I feel like I'm getting close to "done" with power mods. All I need left is cams and gears. I have no desire to go any more after that TBH. It's possible if I ever race the car one day (haven't yet) I would want a higher stall converter but other than that, I'll leave the real mods to my next car, whatever that'll be.

I wonder if the valvetrain can go until 7.5k....

I don't think so. This is most likely assuming you're upgrading cams and springs. There's not really much point into a new intake manifold unless you do cams and headers as well.

I'm with you on that one. Its so hard to decide when to stop modding this ride and start saving for the next....

Well, C&L just put an update on their site. They shortened the runners on their intake because it was losing power up top. They also did a whole new set of dynos comparing stock manifold to theirs. In all of the dyno's the Stock manifold made more power all the way up to about 5500, after that the C&L intake makes more power and continues to make power until about 6.5k and it slowly starts to drop off. 1 run showed the engine going to 7k and still made about as much power as the stock intake manifold.

It seems to make good power past 5.5k BUT you lose anywhere from like 0-20hp throughout the revs below that.
