C&L intake manifold

C&L intake manifold
So, I'm looking at this new C&L intake manifold wondering if it's a good power gain/cost investment. The unit will sell for $800 and deliver up to 14 hp on a stock engine and up to 40 hp on a modified engine but the gains are in the higher RPM range. Sounds like they're about ready to do their first production run. Any thoughts?

If you like the way it looks...then buy it. but you're paying $57 per horsepower. Its not as effective as a CAI with tune, where you get a 25hp gain for only $600. About $24 per horsepower. Plus you get the added benefit of a tuner that opens all new doors for improvement.

I read about this in a mg & it did put up good numbers, but a little pricey IMO. I'm thinking of a whipple or an e-force blower soon, so not for me. However if I was going with a centri blower, it would be on my list....

After seeing that same article I was stoked as well, but after searching around and reading about the real world results, no one is finding those same results. Quite the opposite in fact. Most everybody is panning it, just a waste of money. Too bad, 15hp at $800 for a stock GT sounded pretty good...
