Default Very first mod after purchase?

2010 Mustang GT Premium with an automatic. Should be here in the next 2 weeks or so. What would be the very first mod you would do? I've read a ton of posts here, and it looks like the winner should be some 3.73 gears.

Thoughts? If not, what would you do first?

Mufflers... Can't race it when it's brand new but you can make it sound good.

Except his is automatic, which means no 3.73 option I believe. Rear end gears would be nice. Improve the scoot off the line. An engine tune/ECU flash would be cool too. Change the shift points and power curve of the engine. Exhaust...sure, why not. A few extra ponies and a nicer soundtrack. Its all good.

Tru Dat..Sorry, didn't catch that. yeah, then in your case 3:73 would be good. For those with the Auto...what are the difference in the gears in Auto from 5-speed? The car I test drove was pretty stout with the 3:73 gears

I have been told by local guys who know that the gears make the biggest difference (noticable) off the bat, as far as quickness. I'm planning on getting some soon. I did the exhaust first, Borla Stingers, and I'm glad I did. It may not be the fastest, but it sounds like it is, and that I'm happy with (for now). I get compliments all the time on the sound, you won't get that with gears or CAI, although CAI does look cool.

The final drive ratio of an automatic with 3.73s is nearly the same as that of a 5spd with 4.10s, hence the 3.73s are actually the best gears for an auto. I would suggest you get the gears and either some type of aftermarket exhaust or drop the car. It's all your choice in the end, but keep in mind that if you get the gears you will need some sort of tuner like an SCT or a Diablosport. Also, since your auto, get your tune from Doug from Bamachips, he's one of the best tuners in the country for automatic mustangs

Not sure what my first mods are gonna be yet. I have about $5k saved for mods already. Not really worried about doing all "Go" mods since I am not tracking the car. It'll mostly be my week-end joy ride car. I am considering the Roush rear wing..but, since mine has the rear-camera in it I am not sure that will transfer over to the Roush. I believe it will to the GT500 rear spoiler though... Anyone know for sure if that is the case?
