I wonder if a clear tint like they use on glass would work? Or you could get one of your local dealers who does decals to see if they can make you a clear strip.

I know 3M makes a protective film for cars. You may be able to contact them to see if they can make a couple of strips.

I just need a plastic strip of something to cover this area.

I feel your pain, no scratch on my car except for these damn door sills. I know it had to of happened when I took my car into the dealer.
Cant tell whats going on from the picture.
Looks cherry to me. The problem is what again....

I just picked up some of the protective clear door film stuff. very thick and is 100% clear. I used that and popped up the door sills on the 05 and then cut and applied the film. looks nice and glossy and its pretty durable. cost $20 for the roll and there is enough there to do the door sills all the way across, the mustang plate on the door sills, the trunk and the hood. I may go back and get some to put on the actual doors themselves.

The clear film sounds like a great idea for the passenger side, but I have got to figure out a way to cover the current scratch(s) on the driver side sill.

try cleaning the area and then clay bar it, then check Turtle Wax Black Magic (I think) it comes with a black touch up pen. Try to use that and cover it, if you're feelin lucky you could then try a clear coat spray just to seal it. Other options include buying the film in matte black or gloss black. Then do both sides. Then they'll both look the same and your problem area is covered.

I may buy the film in matte black. What exactly is the product called again?

Pepboys didn't have the black. I may buy this and redo mine. Put some nice rounded curves on it instead of hard edges.
