Default MOTHERF'ING RATTLE IN THE REAR/PASSENGER AREA

i have the ****ing rattle in my trunk. sounds like sqeaking of metal on plastic. constant rattle, more intense under throttle. incredibly loud, can barely drive the car without the stereo blasting and windows open. like nails on a ****ing chalkboard.

i've tried for 2 years to fix this. 3 shops. it started when i got my car back after being rear ended.

can barely type, i'm so ****ing pissed off.

Its sounds pretty ridiculous, but you can have someone in the trunk while you drive around to try and pin point the cause of the rattle? Or flip the rear seats down if no one is willing to ride in the trunk...

if you still have the spare check to see if it's loose.
Do you have a box with speakers ? Maybe something loose.
Maybe something at the suspension.

I would start to spray a part , drive, spray, drive untill it stops squeaking. you will find it eventually. let us know what it is

The original owner of my GT removed the rear seat belts for a reason just like this.

I'm now an S197 "expert" at tracking down every little f-in sound in these cars lol. Metal on plastic and loud in the interior... rear deck to glass/panel???

Didn't you mention some guy was standing on your exhaust to fix them back when you got rear ended?

I'd check the hangers on your exhaust; those might be rubbing something.

2nd the Exhaust suggestion

In my 03 GT, the Magnapack pipes were about 1/4" from the sheetmetal on the axle loop.

Any decent bump in the road and I'd get a squeaky noise. Took me a month to track that noise down. Adjusted the exhaust with a hammer and never had a problem again

I had a similar one for about 6 months. I finally had my gf drive and I stayed in the trunk. It was some sensor behind the rug. Picture where the gas cap is on the car, now on the opposite side of the car on the interior there is a sensor that is bolted to the frame. The bolts on my from the factory were stripped thus it rattled. It seats into the frame. You can't miss it. So I bought a new bolt with a locking washer and it's gone now..

Oh man I am struggling with the same ****ty noise!!!! I am gonna try the exhaust hangers, or e-brake cable bracket. It only squeaks when I get on it and past the 3,000 rpm range and it sqeaks like a bitch! Only happens after about 10 minutes of driving! sound liks a dam bird under my car!!! I am gonna try to do it myself before I let someone from Ford drive it and tell me. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me exactly where the e-brake cable brackets are? Thank you!
