Default Strange wheel noise?

Hey everyone,
Well I've been noticing this odd noise from one of my wheel and I was looking to see if anyone could give me some suggestions as to what could be the cause. I notice it when I'm moving at very slow speed like back out of the garage or pulling down the driveway (<5mph). It seems to be coming from the driver's side front wheel and its a metal on metal squeaking noise. It's not the brakes b/c it does it when I'm not braking. It's like a high pitched whine or creak and it really has me worried. thanks everyone

You sure its not the brakes? Check the rotors and make sure there arent any spots that look lighter than the rest (like metal on metal)

The caliper could be stuck and closing even when the brakes arent applied.

You may be due for new pads, and that little indicator thing in the pads may be doing its job. Does it sound like a small mouse scraping at metal?

+1 on a posible brake pad wear indicator. If it was more like a clicking at low speeds, I'd say it's a busted TPMS strap inside the wheel but your 2005 doesn't have TPMS.

yeah it's like a mouse, but I thought it wouldn't be the breaks since I wasn't applying them when I heard the sound. I don't see how it would be that unless it is stuck which I don't think it is b/c I have been driving a lot and I haven't seen the rotor red or extremely hot, but I'll get a better look soon.

The brake wear tell-tale will annunciate regardless of the brake pedal being depresed.

I'm having the exact same problem as you! Its like a 'squeaky/rubbery grommet' type squeaking when turning at low speeds. I am going to try to take it to the dealer, I'll let you know what I find out. Good luck

Ah ok Nuke, I guess then it could be that b/c at high speeds it would be too quite to notice. Ill look for the metal on metal marks.

Are there certain brake pads you guys recommend that won't break the bank?
