Default Need pictures of lowered convertible top

I just had the top replaced on my 2008 for the second time. First time was due to holes worn on the underneath because the driver window not lowering quickly enough. The replacement was a different design than the original but something was rubbing during the lowering process which wore holes on the top on both sides. Through this all, there are wrinkles that will not go away and I am constantly arguing that the top no longer retracts as far as it should. Of course the pictures I took on the first day I got it are not from an angle that helps me prove my point. I would love it if you could help me get as many photos of your cars with the top down taken from the side and the rear so that I have ammunition to show the dealership they are wrong. I'm at my wits end but won't stop until I am satisfied.

Here's mine... Looks about even with the rear seat headrests.

I had mine replaced also for the wear holes. The top no longer goes down quite as far, which is okay because it prevents the frame from pinching those wear holes into the top again. It's been three months since I got it back and the top closes a little further down now than when I got it back. The leading edge of the top is just about flush with the top edge of the back seat headrests. When the original was on, it went all the way down, maybe an inch or two below the top of the headrests. That was obviously closing the frame too tight around the fabric, and causing the wear spots.

Now, it's about a half inch higher than the white car in the pic above, and very close to the same height as the red car above.

If it's more than an inch above the headrests when closed, I would take it in and have it adjusted.

The back of your top should go down a little farther IMO. The wrinkle in the first shot shouldn't be there either. Are their wrinkles on the other side, or is it tight? I'm guessing it's probably tight, and the top is cocked to one side from the install. The shop should be responsible for readjustment.

Maybe it's the angle, but in shot #3 it appears the top material is bunching up against the molding.

I just had the tension cables replaced under warranty, before it expired. I had to have the top readjusted again after the install because it was wrinkled and loose around the back glass. It looked similar to what yours did, except it was around the back glass. Around the other side of the glass it was way too tight.

I usually see some small dimples and creases that appear after the top has been down. However, once it's been up for a little while (especially in the sun), they'll go away. In pic #1, those wrinkles are way too big. I'll get a closeup of mine on lunch.

I have similar ripples as seen in your first pic, maybe not quite as pronounced but still in a similar position....kinda figured that was the nature of the beast with a vinyl top.

I have a few spots when the top is up that have a little wear, but the way yours looks when down is not right, that is for sure.
