Used GT or New V6?

Used GT or New V6?
Hey guys,
I'm not fortunate enough to afford a GT new, but I was wondering if you guys think it's better to try and wait to buy a GT used or a new v6 model? I'm hoping that when the 06 models are out that the GT prices will drop enough so I can afford an 05 GT. I've been looking at the Kelly Blue Book and classifieds, and it looks like you can buy an 04 GT for about 20K which is defintely within my price range. I'm hoping the prices drop similarly for the 05 GT. My only fear is that I won't be able to get the color I want. Either Sonic Blue or Screaming yellow.

I don't think the prices of the '05s will be cheaper even with the 06s out. There is still too much demand for the car. You should pick up a 99-04 GT instead of the 05 V6. Those can be made very fast and they are cheaper than a new GT and faster than a new V6.

There will be little drop from the msrp for the 05's next year. Keep in mind that most GT's went over MSRP to begin with. Don't expect to pay less for GT next model year. If I had a guess, 05's will be right around $25,000 next year if not more....

Screw it get a old 5.0 for 5,000 and spend 15,000 On mods, will be a wicked fast car aint nobody gonna keep up with you... LOL
Just playing if you are looking for a newer Mustang I would just go with the 99-04 GTs there sweet cars and easy to Mod. Not saying that the 05 V6's arent nice its just nice to have some power when you push on the trottle.

It's going to a long time before you can find a used 2005 GT for $20,000. The few ads I see for used 2005 GT's are equal to what you could order a new GT for in most cases. The big choice for me would be is it the 2005 body stlye you are drawn to, or is it the V8 engine? If it is the changes in the body style then an older GT is not going to satifsy you. If it is the V8, then you may be better off with a late model GT unless you are willing to wait another year. Of course you can take a 2005 V6 and add a CAI, duals and a tune and be close to the horsepower of a stock 99-04 GT anyway. Either way you go any Mustang is better than no Mustang. Good luck.

i wouldn't mind having a V6, insurance is lower not to mention if this is your daily driver, you won't care about how many miles you rack on the engine, because its just a V6 anyways.
