I have the Roush shifter with the Hurst stem and ball. After 7K miles it's slowly starting to feel less notchy and mine is a daily driver with 4:10's and constant shifting.
Ive had my hurst for a good 7-8k miles and its still notchy. I don't have the billet one though. Im planning on upgrading to a mgw in the future, so it doesn't really bother me much.
I've heard even the MGW is notchier than the stock shifter. For smooth shifting the stock shifter is going to be hard to beat. The long throws kinda suck though.
I've had the Hurst...non billet....for about a year and it's real smooth shifting, but there is a lot of side to side play when in gear. I can't seem to fix it and tighten it up.
