Question about the alternator

I tried doing a search first but nothing came up.

What is the stock alternator for a 05 GT with the 1000 watt shaker system.

Is it 135amp or higher?

Thanks

's up girl?

I don't know the answer to your question but I'm sure electrical guru 157db does.
Might not be a bad idea to upgrade to a higher amperage if the price difference isn't outrageous.

The dealer will have that info for sure...

Hey there, good to hear from you

We just want to make sure what the stock amps are,
to make sure we get at least what the shaker 1000
requires.

The stock one is 105 amps. I'm replacing mine with the new 130 amp one.

The first stock alternator was superseded by a new model, 6R3Z-10346-DA and then a second revision, 7R3Z-10346-B. The -BRM model is remanufactured. PA Performance makes 130 and 200 amp models, both of which are overkill for most cars, but are actually cheaper than the dealerships charge for the OEM ones.

Get the 130 amp if needed.....the 200 amp would be for serious sound systems and the shaker 1000 though nice is a factory sound system that has 1000 watts. The cars stock alternator should be more then enough for stock systems

The stock unit is fine which I believe is 135amps but you could get a 200amp one cheaper than the OEM one from a reputable distributor. I have the shaker 1000 with the stock alternator and upgraded the battery to a Optima Red top. I haven't had any issues.

Silly me, I should have put the reason for this question.
Want to get a black one ( it would look good with the polished supercharger) we found 2 a 135 and a 200 that they make. We wanted to make sure that we get one that is strong enough for the shaker 1000 and the supercharger.
I really do appreciate the info. So a 135 is ok for a supercharged Stang?

135A is stock, but thats at full RPMs and who drives at 5000 RPMs constantly.
The output goes quite low at idle or just above idle on the 135A stock alternator.
The shaker will work on the 135A OEM alternator and the
SuperCharger only uses the water pump amps if it is water to air in the intercooler.

A 200A alternator is overkill in your situation....

I have the PA performance 135 amp alt. I also have a shaker 1000 and this one works a lot better than the stock one. The PA performance also claims their alt makes more amps at idle than the stock one.
