Straight pipes vs XXXX exhaust
 

Well ive been listening to exhaust clips for weeks and i just cant make up my mind. Im leaning toward boom tubes but i was curious, do the sound alot like straight pipes? I was thinking about removing my mufflers for a day to see how it sounds just so i can get a general idea. Am i wasting my time or is it a similar sound?

Also, anyone got a quick how to on muffler removal/reinstall? I know its simple but ill probably be short on time if i try it

Taking your muffs off will not give you any clue as to how boom tubes sound

But it will sound just like a straight through pipe, like the SLP.

hmm... maybe ill just buy some boom tubes and pray. Seems like alot of people like them.

I've heard boom-tubes in person and they sound good. Much better than my chambered magnaflow.

I like my Pypes mid-mufflers :-D I've always been a fan of glasspacks/straight through mufflers :-P They're plenty loud too, if loud is what you're looking for. If you want it even louder, get some headers and an o/r midpipe :-)

straight pipes sound like BLAHHHHHHHHHHH....you'll find yourself ordering the Boomtubes...

Taking your mufflers off will not sound like SLPs. It will be more "wild."

SLP's were the first mod i ever did to my car. IMHO, they sound freakin good. Ive never heard boomtubes, but im sure they sound great. Its up to you, i don't think you can go wrong with either, but i wouldn't base my decision by running no mufflers.

Honestly I see no difference in the sound of LMs vs. the same car with no mufflers on. Mac mufflers + o/r prochamber = win ;)

does brenspeed offer any MF discounts? Last i checked boom tubes were 329 at both brenspeed and stangmods but stangmods offers a 5% discount. Id prefer to order from brenspeed though.
