You can start by cutting down on unsprung weight with lightweight wheels. Also, you can drop nearly 100lbs off the car by pulling the rear seats and replacing the fronts with racing seats. This would be pretty cheap way to lose 100lbs since you can get pretty good money for your front seats (leather?)...wouldn't end up costing you too much.
I saved close to 60lbs by replacing the K-member and A-arms. The stock pieces were heavy. Seats are definitely a good start. I ended up going with the Saleen S7 seats (VERY Expensive) but you could do a pair of sparco's and actually make money on the transaction.
I suppose it really depends on your budget. If you have the money you could rebuild everything lighter then it is now. Dry Carbon parts, deletes, etc...
If its in the trunk then your adding ~10 feet of wire. And if you using 4 gauge or 1/0 then that will add up a bit.
Not if you dump the 30 Lb Ford MotorCraft for a 12Lb Braille battery...
The added weight of the battery cable (only need one, the positive) seems trivial.
Weight savings and better weight distribution in one might swoop...
