I won't get to run the 1/4 for a few weeks... there isn't one in SD. [:@] The only thing we have around here are a couple 1/8-mi tracks. But, I'll be at one of them (Qualcomm) tomorrow night.

It is a pretty poor track... it is rigged up in a stadium parking lot, and the launch pad is just part of the asphalt parking lot... no concrete, no prep. But it is all we have right now. If the tires don't spin, I'm hoping to pick up a tenth or two over the 8.9's/9.0's we ran before. That would hopefully equate to 2 or 3 tenths in the 1/4.

The local track(1/8th) was shut down a couple of years ago for noise pollution. There is another being built even as we speak. The closest 1/4 mile track is in Noble, Ok. (Thunder Valley). Its about an hour away and I've been trying to get away for a day a see how this thing runs. Good luck and I'm glad your gears worked out for you. I was concerned that you wouldn't like them, but I forgot that the auto cars have 5-speed transmissions in '05. See ya in the twelves Don

The closest 1/4-mi track to me is 85-90 miles away (CA Dragway in Fontana). And it doesn't run for street cars often enough (one "street legal" event per month). They are running this weekend, but I can't go. Next one is scheduled for 8/13.

You should be down to "racing slicks" by then Don. Good luck.

FWIW, I just made a 50-mile roundtrip run to the airport to pick up my brother-in-law. I wanted to see how the car cruised on the highway with the 4.10s. With the cruise control at 75mph, the engine turned at 2600rpm. I also reset the gas mileage indicator when I got in the interstate. Over a 20+ mile stretch of interstate, I got 24mpg at 75mph. Not bad...

Like I said, I like these 4.10s!
