My husband drove his 5.0 50 miles back and forth to work all winter a few years ago and was fine. We had alot of snow that year.We dont only get snow storms, but we get the freezing rain and ice to go along with the snow. This will test even the best driver. We invested in studded snow tires(2)and a sload of patience. We were able to get up the worst roads and hills in CT with no problems.Granted he did have an auto.

With a Calgary winter I use Michelin X-Ice - they've handled 2 winters quite well. The posters who use summers or all season in the winter are braver then I. You definately need some winters so that you can actually stop safely!

Well get 235/55/18's and there pretty cheap, they are 'technically' a small truck tire but only 1/4" taller then stock.

18 inches of snow, blizzards, storms- it's all good, I drove the GT though everything.. Studded hakka 2s all around.

Switch out to stock rims and winter tires, you should be OK.

I definitely would not recommend F-1 GS-D3 tires in snow...............unless you like spinning tires in every gear.
