Default How much does the engine of a 2010 Mustang weigh?

Hi,

I'm a fiction writer, and I'm thinking of writing a scene in which three people move the engine of a new Mustang from the back of one truck to the back of another truck. Could three people really carry the engine?

Thanks!

According to Ford, 435 lbs

So three people could lift it

I love this incessant talk of the return of the 5.0 and the promise of 400 hp and "I'm going to wait until then."

Sure you are.

Then there will be another reason to wait.

If it's high compression, what are the opportunities for supercharging? What will the mileage be like? What will it do to the sticker price? Will it be as refined as the current modular 281? The 281 was first introduced in 1991 in the Towncar; it wasn't until 1996 that Ward's put it on their 10 best engines list ... there's a reason for that -- it was refined and tweaked over time.

Ahh.... the gearbox... that's the reason...

If it's 6 speed, will the gear ratios be better spaced than our 5 speeds? I have owned 3 six-speeds (MX-5, Acura Legend, G35) and every one of them had a short 6th gear. I have never been more happy with the gear ratios in a car than I am with this car and I don't miss the extra cog. Please, please Ford -- if you're going to do a 6 speed, don't f' this up.

As an aside, regarding the ecoboost, there's nothing "eco" about it... last MT writeup said they got 16 mpg in the Taurus. http://tinyurl.com/knqb4p I'm getting 19-20 in mixed driving with a standard issue lead foot on a GT.

Oh, and what will interest rates be doing in a year? How about inflation?

Will the 'Stang improve? Count on it. But in the mean time, live your life and count your blessings. I'm having a blast with this car, and I wouldn't begin to price out the smiles on my little ones faces on our Saturday drives with the top down....
