I have heard and seen it.
Most of it, is the owner running a tune too lean...

moose I don't disagree with any of that. Just saying the car itself is capable of those numbers. And you can always use the DA tables if you're at higher elevations. It's all relative.

We have people here who've done 12.8 with nothing but an intake/tune on stock tires. In a manual car. Can they do that every time? Well no... But the car certainly is capable if driven to the limit.

there was an issue of 5.0Mustang and super fords awhile back, I believe in 2006, about a guy who had 2005 supercharged V6 with quite a bit of other work done to the car, it was running mid 11's and he named the car "The Buzzin' Half Dozen"

maybe 13.8 with intake and tune, NOOOOOO way 12.8! You show me a video of a all stock GT running 12.8 in the qaurter mile with a tune and intake!! id love to see that!!

We run about as close to sea level as you can get in here in florida, none of us in a S197 have even come close to that with alot more mods than that. we are not experts but we are not that bad of drivers either.

i have seen some stripped down S197's with ALOT of weight reduction run pretty decent with full bolt ons.

Add some gears and a bottle of nitrous and bring the GT into the Mid 12's.

A boosted GT with 420-450RWHP($5-6k, not counting nitrous) will probably get walked by a GT500 with 520-540RWHP (Pulley, intake, tune, $1k in parts). Now a GT with 420-450RWHP will probably walk a stock gt500 because of it's heavier weight and safe *** tune.

Let's not forget that a GT500 with pulley, intake, full exhaust, 75 shot (yes 75 shot), and a tune has ran 9's. That was also on stock supey as well.

Hey Paul, didn't our buddy Americanspeed, put his car in the 12s with bolt ons before he supercharged it?

AmericanMuscle4.6GT on this forum did 12.8 with just CAI+tune, boomtubes and a few basic suspension mods. He lives in FL and has a manual.
