the 460 is aluminum heads? thought that was all cast. perhaps way of op topic, but i was able to get a ford dealer in phoenix to leak that the 5 liter and a 6.1 or 6.2 is in the making for 2011, so i am wondering what the dimensions are on those, maybe that 5 is just a stroked 4.6 but the spy pics dont look like it. then again, not sure what the diff would be between that 460 vs 6.1
Was thinking much faster than my typing, lol.
The one with aluminum heads is the FRPP version, bumped to 521ci now.
On mass produced ones, founded in trucks from the factory, they were all cast and not even close to high HP numbers.
Very torquey mill though...

thanks everyone, i really appreciate all the input...i'm 19 right now and going to college for mechanic work, and i'd really like to get into custom cars and fabrication so i figured something like this would be a good project to mess with to get some experience workin with everything...that and i freakin love mustangs

why not play with a V-10 then?
slightly bigger than a 5.4, and gobs of potential. And I believe they are a bit lighter than the 460 since they have aluminum heads.
They fit inside the new Edge stangs. SVT was playing around and installed a V-10 in a 99/00 GT for ****s n' giggles. Apparently made the car so wild they decided it wasn't a viable idea. All the forward weight bias caused traction to disappear
