anything from another car will fit, the question is if you have the $20,000 needed for the conversion, and why, when you could make 1000 hp for $14,000 on a mustang you would.

I agree with Legion...

And everyone you know is talking out of their asses. Kiddin'

That conversion has been done already...
That motor is less wide and less tall than the 5.4 you find in the GT500.
You'll have to make custom motor mounts and probably re-work your crossmember...

A 460 will even fit in a new edge car... again, less wide and tall than the Terminator mill.
A member here, has done that conversion recently on his 99 Stang.
His user name is 99BlackPonyGT.

just kinda curious, what kind of numbers is that 460 putting out? there was a thread in here a little while back about swapping the 2v 5.4 lightning engine in, but the 380/450 numbers, everyone basicly concluded the price and time wasnt worth it.

The 460 is not the way to go, unless you stroke it to 514 (600hp easy) but you'll end up with a lot of weight up front.
Over 600lbs with aluminun heads without accessories

It's also good to know that the 460 is about 32" long from water pump shaft to end of rear block.
The 4.6 is about 28" from timing cover to end of rear block.

the 460 is aluminum heads? thought that was all cast. perhaps way of op topic, but i was able to get a ford dealer in phoenix to leak that the 5 liter and a 6.1 or 6.2 is in the making for 2011, so i am wondering what the dimensions are on those, maybe that 5 is just a stroked 4.6 but the spy pics dont look like it. then again, not sure what the diff would be between that 460 vs 6.1
