supercharged V6 faster then a stock Gt500?
#21
V6 has 7.5in rear axle vs the GT 8.8in.
V6 HAS A 28.6mm front stabilizer bar vs GT 34mm
V6 has no rear stabilizer bar vs GT 22mm solid
V6 has 290mm vented disk front brakes, GT has 316mm
V6 has T5 manual tranny and GT has TR3650
Driveshaft on V6 is slip-in tube single piece, and GT is two-piece aluminum, but I don't think the GT's is better.

Lol... ok, well.. just to set the record straight, a supercharged V6 ***CAN*** beat a GT500 in the 1/4 mile at the track.... I DID IT!!!
Of course, it was more of lack of driver experience with the GT500, and he did trap a faster speed than me, and we did have similar reaction times, but in the end, I crossed the finish line first!
Y'all can call BS all you want, it DID happen!
But, give the guy a little more experience, or stickier tires like slicks or drag radials, and it would not be close: the gt500 would easily win.
So, it can be done, on a rare occasion, but it is NOT the norm.
And you certainly would not be able to do it with a normal slap-op Vortech kit with no other mods nor without a very good custom tune. You can only do so much with a stock 4.0 engine.

You don't need a front sway bar, I don't have one anymore.

Yeah, this never gets old man...
For those who care... Justin at VMP tuning had his sixxer faster than his stock Shelby.
But you have to pack a lot of boost...
It was with the Vortech. He's running the boost at 16lbs, that nets him 398rwhp.
He was faster than the GT500 with 13lbs already.
So yeah, it's a good thing that Vortechs are the worst of the Centris.
Of course, as soon as he opened the hood of his Shelby, it was all over for the V6.
That V6 is his wife DD, lol.

The most important thing you have to understand about that VMP car is first that it's a fleeting and unrealistic and unsafe setup and he's only running it like that to get big impressive number (according to Justin not just me) and second that's it's running race fuel. In street trim it makes 360rwp not 400rwhp and even 360rwhp is a fleeting number still. Even considering this no other car is going to be able to achieve a similar level of performance as the VMP v6 due to the tuning.
His v6 is questionably faster than the GT500 because he doesn't know how to shift the gt500 properly. I would say that the GT500 is actually faster than that v6.
Vortech is a quality product. The problem in terms of performance with Vortech is that they have very bad pickup from 2k to 4.5k on the v6 and considering the redline is at about 6k rpm that's an issue which makes it slower than it's peak numbers would make it seem.
The best way to beat a GT500 is to go with a full bolt-on x-charger which in a kit has a better torque curve and makes more horsepower than the Vortech kit.

She's done it more than once too.
That particular car doesn't hold a whole lot of secrets from her...
Moose, are you talking about the FRONT sway bar?!?!
Damn, that wouldn't fly with me, the way I go through the curves...
The rear one though, is pretty much useless on a solid axle IMO.

when will this madness end.....while we are answering this totally redundant question with no finite solution lets take a look at few other of lifes mysteries that no one can agree on??
Can my grandpa beat up your grandpa?
which came first the chicken or the egg?
can I wear plaid and be cool?
can I build a faster anything????
bottom line to the OP and not being disrespectful, just a little tongue in cheek humor...however yes...you can build a car to be faster than another STOCK car...yes you can have the right setup with a V6 mustang to beat a stock gt500..but I only chuckle as these questions are like asking if the sun gets hotter as I get closer to it...you can always build a faster car...there is no finite solution as the moment you do that person could build their car faster and so on.....it just never ends....lets just agree that we all own some pretty bad *** cars in stangs etc from a company that did not take the government hand out yet still prosper??
