Default 07 GT 5.4 sawp $$$$

I have a chance of picking up an engine from a 07 GT500 5.4 S/C complete with the harness. My 07 GT is stock with an automatic transmission and stock gears, this 5.4 is available for about 3500bucks and I can make payments on it. My question is it a drop in with minor mod’s or does it require too much time and money to make the swap. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

I'm sure you will have to spend alot of time and money into this, but hey 3500 what a deal. I know those engines brand new are over 18,000 bucks.

will need the tranny as well as THE ENTIRE harness... computer will be needed as well. new engine mounts... It can be done but it may cost more than the price of just throwing a SC on there ...

Crossmember are different as well.
You'll need the GT500 one... and all the little parts that it's impossible to know you will need, until you get to that point.

PLstang, is a member that has done the conversion with an automatic tranny...
He doesn't logg in anymore, but he'd be the guy to contact.
If the search feature is efficient enough, you could find the thread he posted a while back.

If you were to do this, don't forget the money needed also, to mod the Shelby engine.
You wouldn't want to leave it stock, would you?

your tranny will bolt up to the 5.4 luckily

not sure how long it would last...biggest issue would be getting the GT500 PCM to command the tranny

I personally would grab that motor and then flip it for $$$$. Then buy a blower. When done, that swap would be nothing but fun, but the headache to get your there.
