Normal no, common yes, the pipes are prolly touching the frame sumwhere. Is only when you drive or at idle too?

I had that problem. Everything seemed clamped tight. So I took it too a muffler shop and had them remove the clamps and weld the x-pipe in. I left clamps at the front and back of the x-pipe. But all the individual pieces are welded. Solved my problem.

You shouldn't be rattling at idle. Something is loose or touching something that it shouldn't be touching.

Make sure the exhaust doesnt touch anything when you shake it. I mean really shake it.

I would also make sure you got the clamps on the correct way. I hear someone else had his put on and the clamps were backwards and it was touching the trans.

Jack up the car (ramps preferred), crawl under there, and pound the pipes with your fist or a rubber mallet and see if you can find the rattling.
