Stock or Lowered better?
Ok I know this is going to cause some debate but I am looking for real proof that a stock sprung 2005 - 2009 GT hooks better on the drag strip than a lowered 2005 - 2009 GT I love the looks of a level ride but do not want to sacrafice looks for performance at the drag strip.
I was told by a reputable source that stock springs work better for straight line hooking than any other aftermarket suspension other than springs specificly desingned for drag such as the steeda drag springs and eibach drags etc?
I currently have steeda lower control arms and just ordered som CHE anti aquat brackets just for sure testing the lca angle thoery on a stock set up.
I also have a set of Mickey ET Streets i am saleen twin screw supercharged running 10.5 psi boost and let me tell you my car is sick with the slicks off the line I want to level or lower the car with out sacraficing my upper 11.50's - 11.60 1/4 mile times.
with my power level i am concerned dont want to be disapointed looking at steeda ultralites.

First off, i have no real experience here so take what i say with a grain of salt...
Assuming they are stiffer springs then they should help your time. Naturally during acceleration your car will "squat" or drop down in the rear and lift up in the front. With stiffer springs that will be reduced which will help your launch. Instead of your springs absorbing that downforce on take off, it should plant your tires even firmer to the track and let you get off the line a little quicker.
Not sure if thats correct at all, but it makes since in my head

I have the utralites, I was willing to compromise some performance at the strip for the better stance with the lowering springs, mostly because my car is a DD and looks are important to me. If it was a 100% dedicated race car, then I'd go with the CJ springs.
I've pulled a best 1.59 60' on the ultralite springs running 26x11.5x17 MT ET streets with the stock 3.55 rear gear on a notoriously bad prepped track (orlando speedworld)
