I've Got a Mod Bug

Hi everyone,

In the past few years I've owned my 05 Mustang GT, I only made small changes here and there. Billet pieces in the interior and a billet grill on the front. In the past few weeks, I've been reading more here on the forum and I decided to add a JLT CAI, SCT tuner, and Flowmaster exhaust. Man, what a difference. Throttle response is amazing and so is the sound. One of my favorite features was the Shaker 1000 but I find myself turning it down more ofter to listen to the exhaust now.

Looking for ideas on my next step. I was thinking about wheels and tires and possibly lowering 2". I've been looking at 18s and 20s but I'm not sure. I know I'd like to keep the old muscle car look. BTW, the car is black. Any input is appreciated.

No cure for the bug. It is usually terminal. Only medication can help now........ Lowering that much will probably be a little bit of a headache. Especially if you ever get long tube headers. I am lowered 1 1/2 and have trouble with some clearances. Wheels and tires are a good choice. With all the variety out there you just need to look and pick what fits your taste. Congrats, and good luck.

I'm lowered 2" with LT's and don't have any issues. You just have to be careful.

Edit: Also depends on which area you live in, pot holes etc are a major PIA. That being said, i will say that lowering your car 2" isn't the smartest thing to do for the average joe, but in my case, i can handle it, and its def the look i was going for.

Sounds like you and I have been bitten by the same bug. IMO 20's are the way to go on wheels. As far as the drop, I guess it would depend on how harsh of a ride do you want. I'm looking at the Eibach Pro spings which give about 1.5 inches of drop and levels the car out nicely and from what I read the ride is close to stock.

if your looking to keep the "old muscle car" look id stay with the 18's :D

Wheels and tires can defiantly make a huge difference on a car. They do cost more, but their worth it.

stick to the 18s if you want to keep that old school look. i got mine from american muscle and love them.
