putting my stingers on tonight
#2
I had mine installed by the same shop that did my headers. (I wanted them to check the headers for leaks. I could have easily done the install myself).
Glad I did.
They ran into some fitment issues with mine. The end of the Stingers that goes into the midpipe (the opposite end from the tips), has a halfmoon-shaped part cut off that's supposed to line up with a small "tooth" at the end of the midpipe. For some reason, mine just wouldn't fit; even after the shop loosened the midpipe and tried to get them to line up.
In the end, they had to just grind off the tooth and install away. And after that, they had to bend the hangers a bit, to get the tips lined up.
I'm pretty sure that, for the money I paid for these babies, I probably just got one from a batch built on a Friday afternoon. But if the same happens to you, you can do what my shop did, and grind off the tooth thingie.

There's a HowTo write-up in the stickies from TacoBill with some good info, especially on how to center the tips in the event you have a problem. Very useful read for ANY axleback install.

Drone?! LOL. You guys are funny. If you're worried about it being too loud- then leave your stock ones on.
I don't run mufflers (well, the cats have some sound control). It does vibrate a lot during lower engine speeds, but sounds so sweet under acceleration. The stingers have minimal sound control, but will take away the raspy sound (which is also a personal preference).
