I think when you choose to get a Mustang you pretty much sacrifice the MPG thing...

Although I often wish I'd went with an automatic, there's very few joys in life like rev-matching a downshift to 2nd and throwing her into a tight corner.

I always get a kick when an auto owner tries to justify their transmission choice.

Yes, automatics have come a long way. Ferrari, Porsche, Astin Martin, and Audi have automated manuals that I would trade my manual for, but Ford still uses a regular automatic transmission - no shiftronic selector on the shifter or paddles on the sterring wheel.

Just enjoy what you got and don't worry about what other people think. I enjoy driving my manual - even when I got caught in I-95 traffic yesterday coming home from work.

Why is that?

What if I called you a fool for buying a manual?

I don't care what you think.

I chose a manual because I like to have better control over the car in the corners, not because someone said that "manuals are better". We make our choices based on what we want from our cars, not what other people think we should get.

I chose manual because I like the visceral feel of it. Although an auto, with a shift kit or some tuning, will shift faster and more reliably than a manual any day. Which would translate into consistency at the strip or on street racing. I think its cool that TCI brought out that ratchet shifter too. That thing is Bad A$$!

I have had a 2006 Auto Mustang GT and 6 months ago I got a 2008 Mustang Bullitt (Of Which ALL Are Manual) I will say this the day i go back to an Automatic will be the day I am a 35+ year old business man in a Luxury Car. Until then I am going to rip through the gears like my automatic never could. I am going to turn a corner at 45MPH at 5900RPMS and rip around it... like my automatic could not. There is not contest as for what is more FUN to drive, and anyone with a Stick knows exactly what I am talking about.

That too. And don't forget rev matching on downshifts.

Have a M/T and drove an AUTO loaner for 5 days.
I'll take the M/T anyday, but to each their own...
Got an AUTO Challenger and wish it was a M/T.
Or it needs a higher stall torque converter.
Dog off the line but the HP and variable intake
runners makes up for it soon enough...
