Default How much can just the block handle?

Alright alright, we all know the internals can handle maybe 550hp max...and ive seen people ask about the block and people also saying 550 but that was for the block assembly i believe..then i read on yahoo answers last night and a guy said he's seen the stock block along with forged internals was handling 750+hp and it could handle just over 800hp...

Is this true?

if it is true then im ready to pull the trigger on a forged rotating assembly and just keep the stock block...i want to be running around 600 at the wheels eventually

im pretty sure thats around the correct numbers for what the block can handle. I heard someplace on here that it was 700hp, so those numbers are in the ball park

500 is what it can handle for any period of time, stock. With forged internals 700 is a safe number

I have heard 800hp is what the aluminum block can hold... I would say dont go over 700 for a daily driver with forged internals

Most forged H beam rods and pistons can do around 700-800hp anyway.

Anyone know what the stock crank can hold? 550? Because I thought the weak link was the rods.

Last weekend, I saw a twin turbo 04 running 850 rwhp on the stock block.

You might want to also look at just getting a forged short block, and don't forget about maybe a stroker.

but if the stock block can handle what i want then why spend all that extra scratch? im not puttin more than 600-650 MAX..i dont need a forged block that can handle 1000+hp..my daily doesnt need to have a parachute on the back lol
