Default Can't remove antenna - need help/suggestions

I’d like to replace my stock antenna with a smaller billet antenna but I have a problem. The last time I went to the car wash, the guy tried to remove my antenna with a pair of channel locks and stripped it bad. Now I don’t have enough grip on the antenna to remove it. Any ideas?

Why the hell was someone at a car wash trying to take off your antenna with channel locks?

Bigger channel locks. j/k You could file 2 flats and used an adjustable wrench. I can't believe it would be that tight, its just an antenna.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they were using channel locks that day. Not the brightest idea.

06LgndLimeGT, using a file sounds like a great idea. Thanks man.

Working in a machine shop for 15 years causes you to learn to adapt a lot!!

channel locks, lol...and probably was turning the wrong way
Worst case, vise grips, if you dont care about keeping the antenna. Just make sure the base is solid and doesn't move.
BTW, they are on there pretty tight (blue loctite?), but once you break it loose, it'll go.

Like tx zstang said use vise grips since the old one is stripped on the outside. Coat the threaded area of the new one with an antisieze compound before installing it.

Yeah, its way too tight to twist by hand. I've tried. Its like someone glued it on.
