I don't trust alarm installers tapping into factory electrical.

I have a CodeAlarm on my 08 F150 that has remote start. It is what Ford uses mostly for their alarms. The guy I ordered it from pre-wired it so it was an easy install myself. I done a few by myself this way too out the testing to find the correct wire.
I might see if he does the pre-wire for the mustang and see if I can get a remote start on it.

I totally agree with you...so, I'm kind of weary about doing it...

Marquise23, This isn't exactly a form of "alarm" however it would go great with one as an additional layer of added security. Check with your local PD if your interested in the Lo Jack coverage system. It's what we use. (I had my stang ordered with one and installed at the dealer). It's relatively cheap, quick to install and definitely a reliable form of vehicle tracking should your alarm be bypassed and the car stolen.

Check it out! www.lojack.com

Alarms dont stop tow trucks.
Crappy installers tapping into my Stangs electrical system is a big no-no.
If they want to break in or steal it, they will minus the PATS system....

Alarms? That's so 1997.

What do you do when you hear an alarm? Panic? Call the police? Get nervous about who might be breaking into someone's car?

No. You get irritated that someone has a crappy alarm that is causing noise pollution.

Useless and an extra fob on your ring. Plus risk on warranty and someone fugging up your car.

I installed quite a few car alarms and false alarms are mostly from improperly place sensors or improperly adjust sensors.

They are not to keep the GOOD theifs from taking your car but to keep the inexperience ones from messing with it.

Most alarms you can use the factory key. We can with the CodeAlarm on the F150.

You will be just fine as long as you have a good quaility shop with good installers to install it. There is no risk on warranty.

Again, people just don't care when they hear alarms.

I don't think thieves care, either.

It's a complete waste of money.
