Map lights won't turn off?

Just got back from a long road trip. Started this morning, noticed the map lights (right above the rear view mirror) were both on. But it was in the day, and it didn't bother me much.

Driving home at night, the lights would not shut off. Upon arriving home, the lights are still on, but my car is parked in the garage.

Obviously, I tried holding the switches down, pressing them, etc... nothing works, the map lights stay on.

I looked at the owner's manual, can't figure out which fuse it might be.

Any suggestions? Weird problem.

The thing that adjusts the gauges brightness might be turned all the way up.

Damn...I'm such a dick. I've been having the same problem for the last month or so and it's the simplest thing. There is something to say about the KISS princeple here.

It happens to all of us. Usually on the simplest stuff too.

Yep, that was it..
Yep, feel stupid :icon_doh:

Although in my defense, it wasn't that intuitive. I must have turned up the interior lighting adjustment button when I was cleaning the car, but why should turning it up result in disabling my map light controls on the top? Pssshh.

But, yep - thanks very much!

Wait, it gets worse as you get older. I thought it was bad when I tuned 40. I had no idea HOW bad after I turned 50! :icon_razz:

I'm still amazed I've made it past 40; 50 will be an utter miracle.
:icon_goofygrin:

But ya, I've hit that damn wheel several times with my left knee.
