When can we expect 05-09 s197s to drop?

Look online, I picked my 05 GT with every option save the automatic trans for $13,200 in Texas. It had 62k on the odo when i got it, but had been well taken care of. Lots of coupes I found at teh time were running 15 or more with the same mileage.

I think Blue Book Value and NADA values are useless. Its about how much the consumer will pay.
There was a guy on here selling used 18inch Roush wheels for $1100 with no tires....yeah they might be $400+ a wheel from Roush, but cmon are you serious?
$26k for an 06 GT vert is insane. I paid 26k for my 06 GT Premium coupe NEW.

I'm not sure what the question is. Are you asking when the 2005-2009's are coming down in price?
Because they already did! Big time!
All those early S197's dropped by over $3,000 when the economy soured and the 2010 came out. Here in L.A. there are 2010's all over the roads. They are expensive, as they have so many standard features, but I guess people who lease don't care that much... I dunno. I saw a nice V6 today with a great interior that had an MSRP of over $27,000!
If the 2011 model is designed differently (slim chance of that. This isn't 1967) it could cause the 2010 to take a hit.
I'd say that if you bought a 2007 or 2008 used with low miles you could make out pretty good.

I stopped in at the Ford dealer where I ordered my Black 06 GT Premium (21K on it now)...(said I am kicking around getting a GT500)...they told me I could get about 23k for my GT if I went for it now... they are in high demand cause everyone hates the 2010 rearend...I said thats why I wont buy a GT500 until 2014...maybe they will fix that F***edup rearend! The production run is 4 yrs...that rearend will be with us until 2014.

The longer you can wait the cheaper they will be. Rare to see a production car go up. They might hold their price or go down. Majority of the time they go down. As for the new 5.0 it should be a good seller but the rear end might keep sales down. People with a 05-09 could just buy the new block and pay for the labor and it would still be cheaper than buying that new car.

You live and you learn... If you are in the market for a stang I'd say wait. If you own a stang I'd say learn to enjoy it because there is always a new Stang coming out that is better, eventually you learn to enjoy your ride and not to plow your life savings into it. All cars get old, all cars depreciate in value, even those idiots who thought the 500's were going to go up in value are now realizing how wrong they were...

Theres a gorgeous looking red GT500 w/white stripe for sale on autotrader. It's in Virginia. He's asking 33,000 and it has 11K miles on it. If I were looking to buy one right now I'd be all over that. Once I talked him down another grand or so.

I think the next move from this Government will be to decree MPG standards of which no 300+ horsepower car will be able to meet. I also expect them to raise the bar as to where the gas guzzler tax applies.
I am not worried about the resale value of my GT, I plan to drive it until the repairs make it a pain to maintain.

Quite a few friends of mine over at the dealership said that the S197 model 05-09 will drop an estimated 20-25% when the new 5.0 motor comes out, so go figure an 08 GT with 10,000 miles and in perfect condition will probably only fetch $17k-$19k
