NA V8 or ecoboost V6?
if you had a choice in buying a brand new mustang, which engine would you get:
NA V8 or ecoboost V6?
for sake of argument lets assume that the power will be 400 hp for the v8 and 350 hp for the ecoboost v6.
and why.
personally i would buy the NA V8. nothing like the sound, even if it had less hp, i'd still get the v8 and mod it.

I say the V8 as well. If you've already got twin turbos on the engine I doubt it gives you a whole lot of room to up the boost and up the power (I mean, I'm pretty sure they're not bulletproofing the ecoboost engines to the standards of the 5.4). With the V8, throw on a turbo/supercharger and you're good to go.

Personally... i would be pretty annoyed if my 400 hp v8 got walked by a mail-order tuned v6... cause you know that's what will happen. If the rumors are true.. there will be a lot of 4.6 GTs being shown-up by kids in 6ers a few years from now.
That said.. you can't emulate the sound of a v8.. no matter how fast your boosted 6 cylinder engine will take you.

V8 still no question....but damn we probably get our butts smoked by a SHO if it didnt weight more than a GT500! I couldnt give up the sound of the V8
And actually to torq output of the ecoboost will put the V8 to shame in the low end and seems to hold steady throughout the entire band. this is performance engine meant to shine and make GT owners jaws drop, both this generation and even the next probably.
I am interested to see what actually hits the streets next year for the GT and v6.
