Rear view camera connection to rear view mirror
Hi All,
I ordered my Mustang with the TrackPack option. In this case, the decklid spoiler is removed, therefore the camera cannot be added. I plan to place a camera into back logo keyhole in the far future. Will I be able to connect it to the stock rear view mirror? I think the LCD display is given, and all I would have to do is just to route and connect cables between them. What connection does the mirror have? Is it s-video, rca or something else?
Do you have any experience?
Thx!

The camera and display inside the mirror use proprietary 8/16-pin (respectively) modular connectors. Power, data, and status messages are all communicated along those pins. Not saying it's impossible, but be prepared for a LOT of work, and many hours getting to know your multimeter intimately (oscilloscope if you have one!).

Thank you, FordEngineer!
And do you happen to know why the spoiler deck lid is removed in case of having TrackPack II? Traditional reasons? Resonance? I also don't understand the other exclusions of TP II, e.g. glass top (maybe because of resonance or higher stress) or shaker 1000.
