Mustang GT...shifting never consistent
#23
Hey BadStang, how do you like the Godspeeds?????
I was quite interested when I saw them and saw the weight, looks like theyre lighter than BBK's which look like f'ing Miata wheels, while the Godspeeds look good, Post some pics of those as thier own thread and list the weight, I am sure alot of ppl on here would be interested to know about those wheels, which would save the average 18" wheel GT about 40 lbs of wheel weight in total from the stockers if I'm not mistaken,
The Godspeeds and removing the spare is thus a roughly 75 lb removal, .1 et in the qm?????

Saw this on another forum. Wonder if it would give the clutch a more consistent feel? Yep, I have the same problem with mine.

I agree!
My neighbor has a 2005 GT and he complains about the clutch and shifting being inconsistent as well. My clutch seems to be fairly consistent, for the most part.

Hi all. I have an '05 GT, 5-speed. It seems it is never consistent you shifting gears or starting from a dead stop. A lot of times the car jerks and other times it is smooth as butter. I have driven numerous 5-speeds and even some 18-wheelers in my day and none of them have behaved like the Mustang. Sometimes it makes me wish I had the automatic. Has anyone else had this problem? Would a tune take care of it, or is it the drive by wire system that causes this?
Thanks
Thanks

How many of those having trouble getting smooth shifts have performed the "throttle reset" procedure?
Do that before even thinking about fooling around with the throttle pedal rheostats.
