Default My brake reservoir is coverd in dirt.. why?

I was changing my cabin air filter and I noticed my brake fluid reservoir is covered in dirt.... Anyone else have this problem?

i think thats pretty much every car, mine has always been like that every car ive owned !

The cap for the brake fluid reservoir on our cars tend to leak a little. The fluid will collect dirt, the bigger issue is if you look below the reservoir you will probably notice paint bubbling on the firewall and frame from the fluid.

Just stumbled on these threads a couple days ago that have a quick and easy fix for this problem. You simply add a neoprene washer under the stock rubber seal in the cap and problem solved!

I did the free version. I cut a piece of thick plastic (It was a container, oil bottle? don't remember) in a circle and placed it under the rubber seal in the cap and presto, no more leak.

Its leaking and attracting dirt.
Your next post in the future will be something like
"the paint is peeling around my brake reservoir"...
