Heading to the Track with the New Paxton Setup
Well this Sunday will be my first go at a 1/4 mile pass with my car. The temps will be in the 50s and the weather will be Sunny finally!
Im so freaking nervous Ive been a wreck at night lol Id like to get some tips on what I should do to run the best time I can with my current setup.
Paxton Novi 2200 w/ Brenspeed Tune (481rwhp/412tq)
Steeda Track Pack Suspension
Nitto555 285s in the rear.
I heard lower tire psi to 20 on the back and launch around 1500 and ease out of the clutch?
God I hope my car doesnt blow up. I have 55k miles on the clock, shoudl I change my blower oil and engine oil before hand? My car pulls really hard with no signs of problems. Should I look out for anything? Any guesses on what I should run?
*takes some valium*

I have yet to take mine down but I would just go and have fun with it. Dont push it at first till you feel comfortable. And I dont think youd be putting more pressuree on the engine than you normally would than the hard launches on the street or pegging it on the highway.

Lol, sounds llike me when I first went not too long ago. I don't think I slept a wink the night before. Once you get that first pass over with you will be fine....trust me.
I'm guessing you are going to run on your Nittos? I ran on my Nitto555 285's as well on my first trip to the track. My psi was sitting around 28 or so. I guess I should have let them down a bit but that first time at the track made that the least of my worries. I was pedaling the clutch and gas on my launches.........finally dumping the clutch at about 2500 rpm. I was averaging 2.2 60fts. I don't know if you have any LCAs or not, but you will notice extreme wheel hop if you don't. Especially with your setup. If you aren't going to light up the tires with a burnout, then I recommend going around the water pit....................you'll be sliding all over the damn place it you don't. and TURN OFF the traction control......haha.
Good luck! You will be fine. Hell, if i can do it, anyone can. Just don't break anything!

I wouldn't lower the pressure in regular street tires that low. Street tires have stiff sidewalls and when you lower them too much, they will cup in the middle (due to the stiff sidewall).
Go very easy on the launch for your first run. It's much, much easier to make changes to your launch for the next run when you have to add some more rpm, instead of spinning like hell on the first run and then try to go down on rpm from there.
