Location of VIN and engine numbers

Hi I just imported a 2010 Mustang GT to the Philippines, bought it from Lonestar Ford in Texas. Our local DMV requires an oonion skin stencil of the Vin & engine number to register the car. I have been all over the car but cannot find where on the chassis and where on the engine I can find the stamped/chiselled numbers. I would appreciate any help as to the location of the numbers. (I know the VIN is displayed in the windshield but thats impossible to reach and "flat" ie cannot be copied onto onion skin.

Thanks in advance for any help and I look forward to being an active member on MF

Thanks GTJT2010, the windshield and door jam VIN numbers are printed not etched and cannot be stencilled. I took ourt the drivers side fender apron but could not locate a etched VIN #. I did find the motor number laser etched but it is to faint to be stenciled

Anyone else have any info on where there is a etched VIN # Thanks

No I was not able to locate an engine # that could be stencilled. The reason why I needed a stencilled engine number is for registration. So I improvised, got a number puncher and made my own on a piece of steel sheet

onion skin is a thin, light-weight, strong, often translucent paper. It was usually used with carbon paper for typing duplicates in a typewriter. Its used in the Philippines to stencil the VIN & Engine numbers for registration. In theory this is to prevent chop shops from selling engines from stolen cars, as when you renew your registration the DMV will check if your engine number matches or is from a stolen vehicle.
