Default Am I the only one?

I've only had my ride for a few days, but dude this thing is FAST. Is it just me, but I can't imagine doing anything more to my car. Maybe I'm a wuss but man my heart races everytime I step on the gas. I also think Ford is full of crap on the fuel economy. At best I'm averaging 11 MPG. Is there anything wrong with bone stock? Chicks dig it and guys respect it. I love it the way it is!

i have what you have minus the shaker1000, plus what i have added i have on my sig, you can't begin to track mpg's for the first 5000 miles after that and not running full throttle from light to light i'm getting 340 to a tank and trust me, i ain't babying it, and you'll be surprised you can get better mpg's at times running hard in 3rd and 4th, mines sucks it down in 5th when running 55, she would rather be in 4th doing 60 getting 22 mpg.

Give it another month or so and you'll want more, trust me. At least think about a tune from Brenspeed or Bamachips, you'll be amazed at the difference from stock and it doesn't cost much. Oh, and by the way, I'm averaging 18.5-19 mpg around town and thats getting on it pretty heavy.

Side note....suggestion on fuel, I have 10,000 miles on her....ford suggests BP, ran 3 tanks, 315 to a tank, got in a low fuel situation had to do shell, now my custom tune is 87, don't need no more power than i got already, got 335 on shell gas, ran 3 tanks to see averaged 332, tried the 2,26 walmart this week 300, so staying with shell 87.

GTJT2010: If I understand you, you're saying running in a lower gear (higher RPM) equates to better MPG? Interesting. Does the brand/octane of gasoline (I use 91, which is the highest available out here) make much of a difference? I'd assume a CAI/custom tune does.

itsokimapilot: Nope, you aren't the only one. It's a fun car. Heavier than I'm used to (it's been a while since I've piloted a Mustang), but way fun.

I'm pointing out what I see on the instant MPG, I can run 55 in 5th, watch it go from 22.1 to 20, I can be driving along at 60 22.3 on there drop to 4th run up to 70 80 back to 60 and it won't move, drop to 5th take to 60 to 64 and cruise and watch it go to 25, wierd I know but I have nothing to prove just staing what I see and what I see is 340 driving city and highway 46 miles a day so 340 going work, can wait to take to Michigan next summer predicting 400.

My Ford service tech swears by Chevron and recommended it 'cause of the Techron thing. I'm not a fuel/oil engineer, so I don't know how much clout to put into those "run your engine clean" claims seen on gasoline commercials.

Dont think your going to be the only one. I've been driving a four banger so long I'm not going to know how to act. Think the only thing I'm going to do, is maybe change the pipes for a better sound. As well as get CAI & Tune.. Maybe Tint my windows.. Other then that, think I'm going to leave her stock..

Paying the payments plus gas and insurance is going to keep me pretty well strapped most of the time.
