I bought an iPhone 6 Plus recently, making the switch from Andriod, for one reason, because my old iPhone I used as an iPod always worked better with the MyFord Touch in my '14 than my S3. My S3 wouldn't recognize Spotify as an app or show song/artist on the head unit.

Anyway, long story short, bought the iPhone and now it isn't wanting to play nice with Sync. When I hook it up through USB it says it doesn't detect media. When I try to set up Spotify through the mobile apps, it says no mobile apps can be detected, even though Spotify is running on the phone. It won't display song artist and titles and sometimes there is no sound, even though the song is playing. (I think I might have fixed that last issue after I searched online and did a master reset on the system, but it still won't recognize Spotify and says there is no media.)

So does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I've looked online, but everything I've found is for October-December of last year when ios 8.1 first came out. Any input would be great.
