How to prep exterior plastic for paint....
 
Just orderd some head light splitters from ebay for 25 bucks and im going to take a shot at painting them my self ! IVE NEVER PAINTED **** BEFORE..sooo with that said what do i need .. Thanks .. the car is Satin Silver BTW....

sand paper, alcohol, primer, adhesion promoter, paint , clearcoat. know how and patience. there's plenty of how-to's and even videos on youtube.

some polishing might be required. but on something as small as the splitters, if you do a good enough job that won't be required. good luck

What out Eddy, not in that order...
You clean/prep before you sand. ;)
Any contamination and it's all over the place with the sand paper.

So:
-Clean/prep
-Sand lightly
-Prep again and prime
-Sand primer the next day and prep again
-Paint

No coarser than 180 grit.
