I'm not sure i'd want a six speed tranny for an auto. 5 is plenty. MOre than that and the car will always be shifting gears looking for the best one.

Vette owners typically complain about this on theirs and so do BMW owners.

Interesting, I'd have to test drive one of those.
Isn't the 6th gear an overdrive than you can switch off?
If not, that's a mistake IMO.

GM doesn't have an OD off button, at least none of the rental cars I've ever driven do. Not certain about the vette but my neighbor has an 07 c6 and he complains about the 6 gears all the time.

My '95 v6 I used to drive had a 4 speed auto (AODE?) and I like it's behavior better than this 5 speed auto. I don't think I'd like 6 other than the fact you can get away with more rear gear.
