If its bad enough corrosion then it could have traveled down your cable and then the warranty would come into play, I just had to replace my whole positive cable to, my terminal was cables were so messed up that my terminal was smoking...... yeah smoking.. Take some coke or pepsi and pour it on the terminal and let it sit for a little bit, then u can get a wire brush and clean it off. check to see if its heating up after you turn the car on, if it isn't than you just have normal wear and tear. Doubt you will need a visit to the dealer.

mine was so screwed up, it corroded the retaining post as well. when i went to replace everything it broke off about halfway down, then a three hour struggle began trying to cut around the retainer to get the battery out. then two days later after i had to replace the whole battery tray, everything is better than stock! B.S!!

The cables and terminals are OK on my stock battery. But for whatever reason the retaining post keeps getting white powder all over it. I keep cleaning it off every year with a brush but it returns.

Every year? Maybe do it more frequently. After cleaning, coat the posts and terminals with a protectant, such as petroleum jelly or a protective spray that you can find in an auto parts store.
